A new entry in the Virtua Fighter series has been in development for a while, but not much has been said about it yet. However, a new major online leak revealed that the game will be called Virtua Fighter 6 Crossroads while showing the first gameplay footage which was likely prepared for an imminent reveal.
While the leaked video, available on Reddit, is rather short and of poor quality, it does an excellent job showcasing the game’s impressive visuals. The animations, in particular, look incredibly advanced, far ahead of anything that we have seen in fighting games to date, delivering an unprecedented sense of impact even at the current stage of development.
Aside from the first glimpses of the playable roster and the first proper gameplay outside the training room showcased last year, the leaked footage features members of the development team discussing the game.
As the Virtua Fighter 6 Crossroads name reveal and the presence of developers talking about the game in the leaked footage suggest, it is pretty much assured that this was meant to act as the game’s official reveal trailer.
With both the PlayStation State of Play and Summer Game Fest showcase coming up in around 2 weeks, it is likely the footage was meant to be shown during some of these events, although, given the eyes of the fighting game community will all be on this year’s edition of EVO 2026, which is being held from June 26 to Jun 28, and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage being featured at the event, the trailer may have been scheduled to be shown during the world’s biggest fighting games tournament.

Still, no matter when the Virtua Fighter 6 Crossroads trailer will be shown, fans of the series can rejoice. The series will be back at its best following its very long hiatus.
