Hey Activision!
I see that you're starting the hyping campaign for MW4! With the Steam discount and all that. And that's wonderful, really, truly an inspired move.
But hey, do you want to know what would really get me excited for MW4? Like, REALLY excited? How about you fix you last two damned titles.
Let's start with MW19: Ground War. Man, what a dedicated fanbase. Do you know that after you mutilated the map pool leaving only 4 maps there's still people playing it? In 2026? This year's big map mode, Skirmish, didn't even last the whole year before it died, but 7 years later, MW19's Ground War (which let me remind you, can host up to 64 players) is still played in a series dedicated mainly to 6v6.
And you also took out 10v10. Now, I know that the 10v10 maps weren't exactly beloved by everyone, but you could always filter it if you didn't want to play it. Cold war still has the Combined Arms playlist (I couldn't find a match last I tried, but it's still THERE). And if I could find a match in Ground War, chances are I could probably get one in 10v10.
I know that there's a good chunk of the community that hate MW19, and they have their reasons, but it's the game that made COD relevant for a while after so many years. It's one of your legacy games, Infinity Ward. So why do you treat it like trash?
And then there's MWII. There's no 6v6 maps missing, thankfully, but the european servers for ground war are bugged, meaning there's no way of finding a match.
And combat stats (you know, one of the most basic things in the series) are STILL bugged in MWII and MWIII after all these months.
(And now that I'm at it, I HATE that Treyarch took out maps from rotation in CW. Remember the map packs that cost 15 bucks? Could you imagine if one of the maps was taken out of rotation? You'd feel robbed right? So why is it any different when one of the launch maps of a 70$ GAME is still missing?? I know Miami wasn't the most popular map, but you could vote for something else if you wanted. It's not as if they took out Derail or Bloc from the old games because they were unpopular, so why do it know?)
If you revisit an old game like COD 4, it may be riddled with hackers, but hey, at least there's no actual content missing.
Anyway, you'll be promoting MW4 shortly, and maybe you'll promise that you'll be working for a bugless game or whatever.
So why not start now? Put your money where your mouth is. Fix your damned games.
Sincerely,
A fan.
