So I have a couple buddies who want to play some COD online or local (if we can do 3 player local maps at all separate houses that would be cool, or online versus/cooperative multiplayer works, too)

The issue lies due to my second buddy having slow internet/an out dated gaming system. See, with my first buddy we both have decent internet with PS5 and play a lot of MW3 2023 for the PS5 together. No problem. Played with him a couple weeks ago online.

My question is for the second buddy who has the slow internet (100mb sec. Not awful) and owns just an Xbox 360 currently; is there anyway we can play all three of us together? Obviously not PS5 to Xbox 360 but maybe me and PS5 buddy one get a couple old school Xbox 360’s; are the servers still able to use to play old school COD games together at our separate homes? Like MW2 & MW3 perhaps? Probably wishful thinking there but can anyone confirm?

Or would it be easier to have buddy two get an Xbox One with MW3 2023 to play together using PS5 to Xbox One cross play online if that is even possible? I am aware that Xbox One is last generation compared to the PS5 so buddy one and I could get a PS4 copy of MW3 2023 and buddy two would just need a Xbox One and MW3 2023 to connect to us then, correct?

Sorry if this all sounds confusing because it’s confusing to us as well. We are just old school gamers who have played COD since high school 20 years ago and both buddies now live far distances from myself and one another. We just wanna play some COD online together without spending a fortune. Luckily I’m a retro collector so I have an extra Xbox 360/Xbox One to spare to one of my buddies if need be. Buddy 2 would just need a copy of MW3 for the Xbox One which is reasonably cheap online I saw. And Xbox Live I suppose… and buddy one and I would get the PS4 version which we can play on our PS5’s (I believe) to connect to buddy two’s Xbox One version since PS4 and Xbox One are last gen systems.

Please, if someone can help answer these questions let us know! Ideally if we could all just get together and play like we did every week back in high school we would… growing up is overrated.

Thanks in advance!
