We should be seeing more character reveals too with six fighters left unknown heading towards the Fighting Souls release

With still a few months left to go before launch, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls just revealed The Hulk and Black Panther are joining the Fighting Avengers team alongside Captain America and Iron Man, but there’s even more going on with the game now and in the near future.
Evo Japan 2026 offered the first playable demo of Peni Parker in Marvel Tokon, which also meant we’re getting our first chance to see full match footage of the alternate spider hero in action.
At the event, it seems a number of outlets and creators were able to capture gameplay featuring Peni in the latest public build of the 4v4 Marvel game.
Like we recently learned from Peni’s movelist in Marvel Tokon, we shouldn’t let the size of her SP//der mech fool us into thinking she’s a slow and grounded character.
Peni is very comfortable in the air, having access to all of her specials while airborne including one that drops her straight down onto the opponent as well as her ability to stick to walls.
She also has a bit of randomness to her kit in Peni’s Unique skill of Gadget Launcher that will make players and opponents have to adjust on the fly.
Peni can shoot out a random drone with said ability as long as the icon next to her meter is lit up, which can perform a number of different actions like dropping in from the sky on a parachute, setting a turret on the ground or holding her enemy down to keep her combos or pressure going.
As for what’s coming next, Arc System Works confirmed in the latest PlayStation Blog post that Marvel Tokon is getting a new demo build featuring Black Panther and the Wakanda Stage, bringing it to a total of 13 playable characters and 5 stages.
Said demo will first be available later this month at Combo Breaker 2026 running from May 22–24 followed by the Hong Kong Comic Con 2026 beginning on May 29.
With six characters left to be revealed for the base roster, that means we’ll likely see new Marvel Tokon fighters revealed at events like this in the lead up to launch.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is scheduled to release on August 6 for the PlayStation 5 and PC.
You can check out a collection of new Marvel Tokon gameplay featuring Peni Parker below thanks to Famitsu, AdvancingGuardTV, and LegacyOfKaiser.
