I just impulsively built a pc based on a few good combo deals on Newegg for around $3k. 9800x3d, windforce sff 5080 (not even the oc version), 64gb ddr5 gskillz ram 6000 cl36, meshify 3 case with all air cooling. Probably missing some important specs but whatever I’m new to this. (Overclocking and reddit posts lol)

I was just messing around with afterburner, hwinfo, and the steel nomad demo slowly increasing my clocks to make sure my new pc was stable and I didn’t lose the silicon lottery. I had no crashes pushing to the results above. +500mhz core clock, +2750 memory, 111% power limit. Everything else stock. Hit 10101 on steel nomad with temps staying below 70c with fans at 60%. Didn’t believe it, went 12 hours on OOCT at those settings with no errors. Steel nomad scores range from about 10050 to 10101 at those settings. Asked claude who said 10101 on a 5080 windforce sff was extremely unlikely.

I’m not big into overclocking. I backed everything way off to a set and forget oc that seems very stable so far and runs in the mid 60s during stress tests. Games run great, pc is silent, cant ask for anything more. My previous pc had a 5800x3d and 7900xtx running hot and loud as hell, but with good performance.

Did I strike gold or am I missing something that is skewing the results? Or is claude off base and the 5080 is just that good?
