As promised for Evo Japan 2026, the latest Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls news has been delivered to us and it is the form of a trailer.
After previously showing us the completed X-Men team and Amazing Guardians teams, it is now time for The Fighting Avengers full lineup to be revealed.
After already showing us Captain America and Iron Man in the very first trailer for the game, we’d been patiently awaiting a full Avengers team to be shown to us at some point.
Today is that day, where Arc System Works have unveiled the team’s full name – The Fighting Avengers – and shown who’s going to be at Steve and Tony’s side for this fight.
It will be The Hulk and Black Panther who are rounding out this foursome, though it should be noted that it’s not the most common representative of Wakanda, which typically would be T’Challa, but instead it will be his younger sister Shuri, who has also taken on the mantle of Black Panther both in the comics and the movies.
As expected, The Hulk comes off as a big-body powerhouse with slow but heavy strikes to incapacitate his opponent, while Shuri’s movement as the Black Panther is very apropos of the title as she does swift and lethal strikes at her enemies to catch them off-guard.
A new stage was also showcased, which fittingly for one of the team’s members is Wakanda itself, the fictional African nation within the Marvel Comics universe which Black Panther rules over and proetcts.
There are some brief story snippets in the trailer as well, where Shuri recites the typical conflict of Black Panther’s comics of Wakanda needing to share its technological prowess with the outside world, while The Hulk appears heavily inspired by the popular Planet Hulk storyline, though it appears that in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Captain America seems to have some kind of part in sending Hulk away, which was not at all the case in the original storyline.
Another worthy mention is Shuri referring to Ororo Munroe, Storm from the X-Men team, as “sister” which makes it likely that the marriage between T’Challa and Storm from the comics is indeed canon to Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls as well, as that would make Shuri and Ororo into sister-in-laws.
One more thing worth noting is that the announcer frames it as a competition, or a tournament, where the winner gets “a shot at the big guy”, showing a silhouette of a shadowy figure. The official blog post details this character as “The Champion”, though details on his identity or motives remain scarce.

Two teams remain to be showcased with all that’s known so far is who’s leading them – Robbie Reyes’ Ghost Rider and Dr. Doom, respectively. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is set to release on August 6th, 2026.
