Among many other titles at Evo Japan 2026, Melty Blood: Type Lumina just finished a very exciting top 8 set.
What wasn’t expected though was the announcement right after the top 8 finished, showcasing that Melty Blood has something brand new coming up in the form of Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina set for an early 2027 release.
In the brief teaser trailer, Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina is billed as a “renewal” of Melty Blood: Type Lumina which will have an evolved battle system and new characters joining the fray.
Essentially, it appears to be a version update for the game.
Considering we hadn’t really seen anything new for Melty Blood: Type Lumina since Ushiwakamaru and The Count of Monte Cristo were released as DLC characters at the end of 2022, this announcement is very welcome news.
Although it’s just a short teaser trailer, it contains some gameplay snippets for Len as a look at what’s to come.
