New character Zohar shown for Under Night In-Birth 2 [Sys:celes], will launch Summer 2026 with balance changes to ‘curb power creep’

After being teased at the Arc World Tour Finals back in march, developer French Bread has unveiled the latest character joining the Under Night In-Birth 2 [Sys:celes] roster.

The mysterious Zohar, dubbed “The Doppelganger”, will be joining the roster in Summer 2026, but she isn’t coming alone — changes have been promised to the game as well.

While there wasn’t a video provided of the new character just yet, we have a series of images showing Zohar and teasing some of her abilities, including ghost-like figure accompanying her in the battle.

The release window of “Summer 2026” was promised for Zohar, and given we’re already in May it likely won’t be that long of a wait before she graces our screens.

As for the game itself, several changes were promised as well to be coming in form of an update, most prominently balance changes which will further tone down the power level in the game, explicitly stated to try to “curb power creep”, a deliberate and continued choice of recent patches after the ill-received August 2025 patch, showing that the developers have clearly heard their playerbase’s wishes.

There will also be improvements to the game’s training mode, mission mode and replays as well as a more specific rating system for high-ranked players online.
