Introducing Skirmish: Ascension – Live from April 29th to June 22nd
We hear ya. We get that you love Skirmish and have been hoping for more of these competitive experiences. So we’re trying something new to match your energy.
Introducing Skirmish: Ascension, the next evolution of Skirmish. A curated Agent pool with limited abilities, staged weapons, and a competitive ladder via the FTW website where you can earn in-game rewards. And in addition to the existing 2v2 matchmaking, we’re adding 1v1 so now you can see how you measure up in a true competitive experience.
The roster includes a limited pool of Agents, each with one specific ability from their kit. The abilities were selected to test your game sense and in-the-moment decision-making. If there’s ever a time to learn to turn away from flashes or shoot a flying Raze blastpacking through the air, your time is now.
Weapons are staged by round phases. Pistol rounds with the Bandit and Sheriff, then Guardian and Bulldog, and for the majority of the match, Vandal and Phantom.

Now here’s how the ladder works:
The ranked ladder lives on the FTW site where you can track your progress and see your rank. The ranking system mirrors the one we have in-game, ranging from Iron to Radiant. All you have to do is connect your account to FTW and play the game. Once the event is over, you can redeem your rewards by going to the FTW website.

This is a new experimental version of ranked we’re trying due to the high amount of requests for a more competitive experience. So don’t forget to let us know how you feel about it! Now lock in and show us what you’re made of.
The event goes live starting on April 29th PT and will be released in a staggered rollout to regions. Be sure to check out the official ruleset on FTW and the following FAQ before participating.
