South Bend, Ind. – The Boston College softball team (13-33, 3-16 ACC) dropped the first game of the series against Notre Dame (20-27, 8-13 ACC) 5-1 on Friday night on the road.

Sammy Horn opened the game with a bunt for a base hit but the Eagles would not put their only run on the board till the next inning. 

Adriana Martinez opened the second with an outfield single before Janis Espinoza joined her on base off four balls. Espinoza would advance around to score off a wild pitch later in the inning, trying up the game at 1-1.

The Irish would score four more total runs while holding the Eagles to take the game 5-1.
