Comic book readers are used to multiverses and alternate realities, and technically so are fighting game fans.
Skybound Games and Quarter Up just released the story trailer for Invincible VS.
The 3v3 fighting game is going to have its own original story separate from the main comic and show though it seems most allegiances are staying as they were.
It appears Invincible VS will take place amidst the Viltrumite invasion of earth where Omni-Man never had his change of heart moment.
On top of that, the heroes seem to also be stuck in a new location with the game-original Ella Mental though this trailer doesn’t really delve into her motives or plans yet.
You can see the majority of the cast getting beaten and bloodied here, so they’re not holding back on the violence and language for the game.
The game’s story is said to feature cutscenes that equate to around the length of an episode of the show though of course there’s going to be plenty of battles happening between the story beats too.
They’ve also now revealed the main voice acting cast that retains a decent number of talent from the show like J.K. Simmons as Omni-Man, but there are changes like Alex Le is stepping in for Steven Yeun as Invincible, who you should recognize as Luke in Street Fighter 6.
