When you first start out in Vampire Crawlers, you’ll probably die more often than you want to because it’s not too clear how to recover your health. This guide teaches you how to heal in Vampire Crawlers in the beginning so you can last longer, complete levels, and unlock more stuff.
How to Heal in Vampire Crawlers
We’ve found four ways to heal your HP early on in Vampire Crawlers:
Pick up floor chickens.Unlock and upgrade the Recovery power up.Use Pummarola cards.Use Bloody Tear (evolved using Whip and Hollow Heart). How to Find Floor Chickens in Vampire Crawlers
As you’re exploring a dungeon, look for torches that sometimes appear on the side of the path, as shown in our screenshot below.
If you run into a torch, you’ll get some gold – and sometimes, a floor chicken. Pick up the chicken and it will restore your health by 10 points.
Floor chickens appear randomly when breaking torches and you may not even find one on your current floor. Still, they’re a good way to heal yourself in a pinch, and you don’t need to pick them up as soon as you find one, either. Feel free to leave it and return later if you’re still on the same floor and need health.
How to Unlock the Recovery Power Up
Once you’ve collected 250 coins, you’ll unlock the Power Ups Shop in the Village. Here, you can spend your money on power ups, which are permanent unlocks.
The Recovery power up heals you after each battle, and can be powered up three times:
Level 1: 500 coins (heals 1 HP)Level 2: 1,022 coins (heals 2 HP)Level 3: 1,524 coins (heals 3 HP)
We recommend unlocking the Recovery power up first as this ensures you’ll last longer during a dungeon run and can mean the difference between a win and an early death.
How to Unlock and Use Pummarola Cards
Pummarola is a type of card that heals you by a certain amount of points after a battle, depending on level. It is unlocked by reaching Level 10 with Gennaro Belpaese, who is unlocked after defeating the Mantichana in the Mad Forest and then buying him in the Inn for 500 coins.
If you use Pummarola cards 10 times, you’ll unlock the Restore Health Gem, which heals you after a battle when you use a card it’s slotted in.
How to Unlock Bloody Tear in Vampire Crawlers
Bloody Tear is unlocked by evolving the Whip and Hollow Heart. If you find an evolution statue while you have both cards in your deck or get lucky and get the Evolution Gem after defeating a boss, you can evolve them into Bloody Tear, the evolved form of the Whip.
Not only does the Bloody Tear card deal damage to multiple enemies at once, but it also heals you each time you land a critical hit with it.
