Counter-Strike player ‘MAUschine’ has been banned for a decade after striking one of their opponents on stage at a tournament.
DACH CS hosted CAGGTUS Leipzig over the weekend. While the competitive Counter-Strike 2 matches went off without a hitch, the post-finals award ceremony resulted in controversy.
The two finalist teams were invited on stage for the award ceremony. When walking to his position, a player by the name of MAUschine physically struck an opposing player. They hit them in the face before walking off and taking their place on stage.

Immediately after, the tournament organizer slapped MAUschine with a 10-year ban. The incident has also been reported to the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC).

All smiles in the middle of the stage, one team was lining up for the awards ceremony. As the other squad joined them in the spotlight, MAUschine struck.
He hit an opposing player by the name of ‘Spidergum,’ striking with enough force to dislodge the glasses from their face. When the camera cut back, the player was befuddled, confused as to why they had just been attacked.

The incident was captured on the CAGGTUS Leipzig broadcast, having since raked in tens of thousands of views.
MAUschine was reportedly agitated by trash talk during their finals match, although there was no cash prize on the line. The winning squad would have been invited back to next year’s local LAN event.
Not exactly the first time something similar has happened, we’ve seen a Smash Ultimate player banned after laying hands on one of their opponents. Some aspiring competitors may need to look into stress ball sponsors.
