What’s the point of the game disc anymore? [MW3]

Just turned on my ps5 after months. Wanted to get back to COD. It immediately said to download 150GB of files, content packs etc. Was gonna be a 6hr download that I struggled to schedule cause I got busy. That just finished and as soon as I try to start the game, ANOTHER DOWNLOAD is required to start. Like what are game discs for anymore.
