BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (WCYB) — The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is the yearly host of the high school basketball all-star games, and this year the stars were out at West Ridge High School.
The games featured some of the best basketball players from both sides of the state line, battling for state supremacy.
However, the event was about more than recognizing accomplishments on the basketball court. For some, it was the time they would put on a basketball jersey
“It’s great because I’m not playing in college,” Adison Hayes from Grainger High School said. “I am very thankful to get the opportunity to play one more time.”
The area’s FCA representative, Gary Maggard, agrees, saying that it is a great opportunity for the community to come together.
“It’s a beautiful thing to see all the jerseys,” Maggard said. “It’s always a joy to see these kids get to play one more time.”
