Need help getting rid of ECC errors on my build.
System:
- CPU: Ryzen 9 9950X
- Motherboard: ASUS ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi (latest BIOS)
- RAM: 4x48GB DDR5 ECC UDIMM, rated 4800 MT/s (bought from Mem-Store on eBay)
- All 4 slots populated
Problem: System is fully stable at 3600 MT/s auto, but logs ECC errors. Goal is clean ECC operation.
Current timings (auto @ 3600): 30-29-29-29-58
What I tried:
- Loosening to 40-40-40-40-80 → no POST
- Going below 3600 MT/s → board refuses
- Memory Context Restore: Disabled
- Power Down Enable: Disabled
- Gear Down Mode: Enabled
None of it cleared the ECC errors.
Questions:
- Why does loosening primaries cause no-POST? Secondaries on auto becoming incompatible?
- Recommended VSOC / VDDIO / VDD / VDDQ for 4x48GB ECC on AM5?
- Is one marginal stick more likely than an IMC/training issue? Best way to isolate?
Thanks!
