Hey everyone, I’m having a serious throttling issue with my ASUS TUF F15 (i5-11400H, RTX 2050).
Problem:
My CPU is stuck around 0.8–1.2 GHz no matter what I do. Even under load (multiple tabs + YouTube), it won’t boost properly.
ThrottleStop shows:
– EDP OTHER (core, GPU, ring) constantly flashing red
– BD PROCHOT sometimes active
– PL1/PL2 also trigger when charger is plugged in
Important observations:
– Initially, it worked fine on battery but throttled on charger
– Now it’s stuck at low GHz even on battery
– PKG power is only around 4–8W max
– Temps are normal (40–60°C)
Things I already tried:
– Disabled BD PROCHOT
– Changed Speed Shift EPP to 0
– BIOS reset (F9 defaults)
– Removed Armoury Crate
– Reset Windows power plans
– Clean boot
– EC reset attempts (power drain method)
– Reinstalled drivers
Extra detail:
When plugged in, throttling gets worse (PL1/PL2 + EDP OTHER all trigger), which makes me suspect a power delivery issue.
Question:
Is this likely a hardware issue (power IC / motherboard), or is there any software/firmware fix I’m missing?
