LYNCHBURG, Va. — WKU Softball fell 4-0 to Liberty on Saturday at the Liberty Softball Stadium.
For the second straight game, the Hilltoppers (28-10 overall, 11-6 CUSA) outhit the Flames (20-20 overall, 13-4 CUSA), but were ultimately shutout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Rylan Smith earned her ninth start of the season and also threw her sixth complete game. The junior allowed only three hits and recorded a total of five strikeouts.
Maci Masters posted the only extra-base hit of the day with a double in the top of the first. Jenna Blanton led at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two singles.
Liberty scored in the first two innings with a two-RBI double and an RBI single up the middle. Their fourth and final run came from an RBI triple in the fifth inning.

WKU falls to 5-6 all-time against the Flames and 1-4 when playing in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Hilltopper pitching staff has not given up a home run in three straight games. WKU hit .261 to Liberty’s .158.
