Omaha, Neb. – The Pirates fell in game two of its BIG EAST weekend series at Creighton, 9-1, on Saturday afternoon at Charles Schwab Field.

How it Happened

The Hall was able to manufacture a run right out of the gates to take an early lead. After Gabe Cavazzoni walked to open the ballgame, he promptly stole second to move into scoring position. A single from Ryan Frontera followed, moving Cavazzoni to third and putting runners at the corners with one out. Nick Tomasetto tapped a ball down the third base line, allowing Cavazzoni to come in and score the game’s first run.

Creighton would answer quickly, scoring on an RBI double in the bottom of the first to level the score. The home side would then grab the lead in the second thanks to a two-run single. Creighton tacked on another in the third and kept the bats hot the remainder of the afternoon, while the pitching staff limited the Pirates to just three hits en route to the win.
