Chun-Li is often nicknamed the “Strongest Woman in the World” as well as the “First Lady of Fighting Games.” Her impact on the Street Fighter series as well as the fighting game genre in general cannot be overstated.

Though it makes sense for Ryu and Ken to be playable within Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it’s a shame that Chun-Li hasn’t joined the fight herself. Modders apparently recently decided to remedy this problem by adding Chun-Li to Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Traditionally in the Street Fighter series, Chun-Li’s attributes emphasized a defensive playstyle. She’s usually armed with some of the best pokes in each game which generally makes it difficult to simply rush down a seasoned Chun-Li user.

However, Super Smash Bros. Melee is a platform brawler in which most of the game’s strongest fighters emphasize high-speed offense. As such, Chun-Li has become quite the aggressive powerhouse herself in order to better function within the game environment.

Chun-Li’s projectile, the Kikoken, is usually intentionally designed to be slow moving so Chun-Li is able to follow behind it with her quick walk speed. This typically allows he to safely approach and poke at opponents as they’re forced to deal with the projectile. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, this projectile is designed to be a quick harassment tool instead.

It would seem that Perfect Rusher has already created tool-assisted speed runs of Chun-Li going through Super Smash Bros. Melee’s Classic and Adventure Modes.
