What makes it interesting is the up close burst damage. The long reload and low reserves keeps it in check.
With reloads included:
– 280,000 headshot DPS
– 90,000 bodyshot DPS
That beats the Novaline in headshot DPS and gives it the second highest bodyshot DPS, but only at extremely low range.
For one full mag without reloading, it does:
– 550,000 headshot DPS
– 180,000 bodyshot DPS
This means you can theoretically dump about 900,000 damage in 2 seconds. Pull this out on a stunned Zursa at point blank and it is gone.
The base numbers:
– about 24,000 bodyshot damage per shot
– about 70,000 to the head
– 340 rounds per minute with Double Tap Double Time
The drawbacks:
- 44 rounds in reserve
- 12 rounds in the magazine
- you can run out of ammo in about 18 seconds
- Vulture Aid ammo packs do not work with this
- very low effective range at about 3 meters, then a 33% damage drop-off
So don't get me wrong, this is not meta defining and if you use it as a primary you need to buy a lot of ammo. But it is basically a free and really good shotgun on the best sniper in the game. Really fun and interesting loadout.
This shotgun uses the multiplayer damage model, with the usual weird split between base damage and bonus damage. Because of that, these numbers are not 100% exact yet, but they should be about 90% accurate. I still need a bit more testing to verify the exact base damage, which I think is roughly 2,000 + (5 × 4,600). It should not make a major difference.
I will update this post, you can check the DPS sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SXf7q_G0eAInboaZ8wo9casx_YGVtJq_XrC4zJAGuIE/edit?gid=699987487#gid=699987487
