MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Apple Arcade and Google are unveiling new features aimed at families, casual gamers and Android users looking for simpler, more powerful tools.
Apple Arcade is set for a major content drop on May 7. A new collection called “Nick Jr. Replay” will bring more than 50 retro games built around popular kids’ franchises including “Dora the Explorer,” “Blue’s Clues” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” The games focus on math, reading and problem-solving skills.
Launching the same day are several additional titles, including “Good Pizza, Great Pizza,” a cozy cooking simulator, along with a physics-based puzzle game and a pool game featuring photo-realistic graphics.
Apple says existing Arcade games tied to major brands such as Barbie, Hello Kitty and Star Wars will also receive exclusive content updates available only to subscribers. Apple Arcade is offered as a single all-inclusive subscription with no ads or in‑app purchases, and one plan can be shared with up to six family members through Family Sharing.
For more information on titles and availability, users can check the Arcade tab in the App Store on Apple devices.
On the Android side, Google is revamping the interface for its Gemini AI assistant. The Gemini overlay on Android is combining its attachment and tools menus into a single bottom sheet, designed to make it easier to access photos, the camera, files, Google Drive and Notebooks.
From that same menu, users will be able to generate images, videos and music, and access guided learning tools. Google has been testing the new layout on the web, and a broader mobile rollout is expected to follow.
