Akali is set to join 2XKO on April 7. Unlike Caitlyn, the previous DLC character that was added to the game, Akali seems to have major focuses on rushing down and mix ups.
Just recently, the 2XKO developers released a short clip that showcased all of Akali’s taunts in one go. Even though we can’t see her mouth thanks to her face mask, she still ends up being quite expressive.
One taunt that’s particularly amusing has Akali setting some sort of card on fire. Ultimately, Akali’s face gets too close to the burning card.
Eventually, the card in Akali’s hand explodes right in her face. We can’t see her health bar during this scene, but it looks like Akali might actually receive damage from this interaction.
It’s not uncommon for fighting games to have characters that have taunts that are capable of damaging opponents, though it’s pretty rare to actually make use of these sort of attacks. It’s entirely possible that the explosion could also damage the opponent if they also get too close.
Of course, Akali has a few more taunts that are interesting. It’ll be difficult to ever pull them off in a real match due to 2XKO’s hectic nature, but they’re cool nonetheless.
