I'm working on "Orblins" a Marble-Matching roguelite, basically imagine Peglin if it were based on Zuma instead of Peggle (ironically both made by Popcapgames originally)
I've been told that match-3's are basically a dead genre and just mobile-slop at this point, but among playtesters so far, adding some depth in the form of roguelite deck-building and scaling encounters seems to be a formula for a fun loop.
Does anyone else have nostalgia for those early-2000's marble-matchers like zuma luxor and tumblebugs? Would you be interested in trying a roguelite take on the style?
