Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is set to be released on July 2, 2026. We recently learned that the base roster will consist of Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, Sokka, Azula, Zaheer, Fire Lord Ozai, Avatar Kyoshi, Avatar State Aang and Avatar State Korra.
Though there was a closed alpha test for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, not all of us were given the opportunity to participate. Fortunately, the developers have opted to tide fighting game enthusiasts over with official match footage.
The first match featured pits Aang against Katara. Though Aang eventually gains power over all four elements in the story, this version of Aang only appears to have access to wind based attacks and movements. More than likely, “Avatar State Aang” will showcase a version of Aang that more readily uses all of the elements.
As for Katara, she’s known to be one of the greatest water benders in the Avatar storyline. This is represented with an especially slippery playstyle in Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game.
Of course, the footage itself demonstrates the fluid nature of the gameplay. Both Aang and Katara have access to crazy burst options thanks to their mobility.
Additionally, it’s thanks to this mobility that these fighters also have some terrifying mix ups. Overall, Avatar Legends looks like an especially frantic game.
