2XKO’s next big update is right around the corner with Akali’s gameplay trailer released earlier this week.
Now, Riot Games has shared Akali’s Champion Spotlight to offer a detailed breakdown of her ninja abilities in the 2v2 fighting game.
The developers note that Akali is the fastest champion on the roster so far unsurprisingly, but it also comes with the drawback of having the lowest health too.
Her movement stands out as well considering she has both a double jump and a wall jump that she can cancel into from attacks in the air.
On top of that, Akali also has the Dusk Step / Dusk Fall special, which allows her to teleport on the ground or in the air.
Riot has given her a double charging strike plus multiple ways to throw her kunais as projectiles that can cover a decent chunk of the screen.
Her S2 specials focus on her kama scythe with a ranged slash that leads to Twilight Shroud on hit, which is the big smokescreen she places on the ground and can be activated in a few other ways like her S1 Super shuriken throw.
This allows her to boost all of her other specials while active like throwing additional kunai, more hits and different properties on top of making her invulnerable for projectiles and let her teleport twice in a row.
So it looks like Akali is going to be a pretty technical character with combo routes depending on her positioning and whether the smokescreen is out.
We may get to see her in action from some pros right after she comes out too.
Tag in.
Throw down.

Twitch Rivals announced they’re hosting a 2XKO Tag Team Throwdown tournament on April 8 where we’ll likely see some big names in the Fighting Game Community team up together though we don’t know who is taking part just yet.
Akali herself and the new update are scheduled to release on April 7.
