norton anti virus changes sides .. imo .. because $$
Im not entirely sure where / how this "norton anti virus" virus was installed… I assume it came with the AMD driver in a windows update ( if i find out i will update this)
Im a software engineer and know my way around windows.. I was not able to uninstall the "Norton anti-virus" virus with normal measures. (installs 6-7 services and ~1.5GB data)
I had to use the win11 "system config" (not startup options which is also available — but to obvious) -> safe boot into minimal
And in here i could uninstall the software with Revo uninstaller ( which i can higly recommend since uninstalls cleanly)
Somehow – it still survived and after a reboot into default windows it reinstalled itself.. but the 2nd time .. it worked.
The reason for this.. imo. quite obvious if one looks at the stock value of this once lucrative bussiness. Its uses its current available distribution channels and image.. and turns (even more) into a data-broker privacy disregarding backstabber..
Its sad that this once proud and valueable company name – takes its leave like a thief.
