I have a ShinySnake L400 sff build with a lapped 9700x. It's a pretty good undervolt chip with everything stable at -30 CO except for core 5 at -23. I can only fit a 67mm cooler and that's also lapped. I seriously can't get much more cooling performance out of the chip unless I delid…..and that's what this post is about. I'm waiting on my delid mate to arrive in the next couple of days.

Seems pretty straight forward with the chip movement back and forth like 100 times. People say to use a drill after like the 10th slide? Any pro tips? I heard not to heat it up or cool it down.

I'll have to mod my sff cooler abit to accept the lower mounting. Hopefully that won't be much of an issue. Im a tad worried since the cooler has just 2 screws so the mount might be slightly uneven but hoping to not have that. I'll test with some fujifilm prescale pressure paper to verify contact pattern before I use paste and turn the pc on.

I know alot of people will say why bother but I've already decided I'm doing the mod so I'll post results soon…ive read a few other 9700x failures so hopefully this will pull through…
