So something that I've really missed when it comes down to maps in cod is how cool the settings used to be, now this isn't a old cod > new cod typa post and I'm not talking about the maps and how they relate to gameplay but just the vibe of the maps and I wanna highlight mw3. I think one of the coolest things about mw3 was just how much the maps benefited from how cool the setting of the campaign was, being a game about ww3 the maps of course reflected the story and what we got was maps that took place in areas like a war torn New York, Germany, France, you fight over an intersection leading to new jersey where a convoy was destroyed. The main thing i'm talking about is environmental storytelling, when I play in these maps I feel like i'm actually a part of the lore, while sandman and delta are fighting through the streets of NYC i'm here fighting for New jersey. it's something small but I think it just adds to the overall vibe of the game that I feel like MW19-MW2-MW3 didn't have, and it reflects from the campaign because it was more of a spec ops story so you fought over smaller areas like houses, a building, or a village. Not to say the maps themselves are bad just the setting dosen't feel as cool
