I’m an atmosphere/interior designer by trade, so I spend most of my time building vibes for other people’s spaces. This one is my personal passion project — my own double-height loft.
I placed the battlestation on the lower level right in front of the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, and turned the entire upper mezzanine into an open sleeping loft. Falling asleep while looking down at the setup is honestly addictive.
The whole room is built around two things: light and reflection.
The hero piece is this crazy long spiral ring chandelier. When everything else is off and only this is glowing, the space feels like a cyberpunk temple. The high-gloss marble floor reflects the lights and the city skyline so hard it basically doubles the height visually.
I kept the battlestation itself pretty restrained — no crazy RGB explosion. Went with a black/white/gray palette with warm lighting. Two Lian Li O11D XL cases (clean builds, obviously), dual 34” ultrawides + one vertical monitor, dark rock-slab desktop, and black ergonomic chairs. It looks cold and minimalist during the day, but turns super warm and cozy at night.
The black couch in the corner is my “collapse zone” after long sessions — those “good good” pillows are my daily serotonin.
A few questions for you guys (genuinely want your thoughts):
1. This spiral chandelier is atmosphere king at night, but it can feel a bit overpowering during the day. Should I add motorized blackout shades, or look for a dimmable version?
2. The desktop is a matte dark rock slab and the chairs are matte black, which looks premium at night but gets a little reflective/glare-heavy in daylight. Any good desk mat recommendations that can tame the reflections without killing the minimalist look?
3. The glass railing on the upper loft — I’m torn about adding frosted film. I love the open feeling, but I’m also slightly paranoid about that “floating in the air” sensation while sleeping. Anyone who actually lives in a loft: how do you feel about it long-term?
4. Last one — does this mix of ultra-minimal cyber + warm zen lighting feel weird to you, or do you like the contrast too?
Took some shots during both day and night. Be gentle with the roast, but honest feedback is always welcome.
(And yes, the red McDonald’s cup is part of my daily ritual. No bullying.)
