My wife wanted to move her setup into the office with me but wanted it to be compact since she isn't in here that often. I saw a company that made something similar so I decided to reverse engineer it and build it custom for her 42" LG monitor.
For any doubters out there everything is plenty strong as is. Sure you wouldn't want to stand on it but design goals have been met and all the parts are easily replaced (if they fail) using threaded inserts.
